One time, while I was being prayed for, I had a vision of a window/door in space. It was a gold and silver passageway with many bright stars around it. The intercessors prophesied that I was entering a new place, a wide-open area. One of them quoted from Psalm 18:19, “He brought me into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” This was pretty profound considering I was having this vision simultaneously as they prayed for me (They didn’t know I was having the vision —I told them later). What caught my ear the most was that God was bringing me into a spacious place – an open place where I could be free to be who He was calling me to be. When I looked back at Psalm 18, I realized it was about David’s deliverance from the hand of Saul and all his enemies that were trying to kill him. God reminded me that He is my deliverer and he rescues me from all of my enemies. I am set free just like David!
Uniquely, the picture is a passageway floating in space with everything behind the door and even around it visible. There are no walls to block God’s freedom and open space. There’s only a passage through which we can enter. God wants us to enter and wants to bring us into that open space. He will rescue us because He simply loves and delights in us.
God has a great sense of humor and after thinking about this vision, I realized that He was bringing me into a place that was wide with a lot of space — hint, my picture was that of outer space!
